A source in the Syrian Company for Oil Transport confirmed the arrival Iranian oil tanker to the Banias terminal on the Syrian coast.
Unews reporter quoted the source as confirming that the tanker is carrying one million barrels of oil, in light of fuel crisis in Syria due to the blockade and Western sanctions led by Washington.
The arrival of the Iranian tanker comes after Syrian prime minister vowed a breakthrough in oil products crisis by the end of this week.
The source refused to confirm or deny whether the tanker was part of a fleet that would arrive in succession.
It is noteworthy that one of the sites specialized in tracking the movement of ships spotted a few days ago an Iranian tanker heading towards Banias, Syria, noting that "the tanker is part of a larger fleet of tankers heading to Banias in Syria."
