Iran | Major General Baqeri: We Will Not Ask Permission from Anybody for Our Own Defense Organization

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri denounced the foreign attempts to restrict Iran's defense power, stressing "like all other nations, the Islamic Republic has its own defense organization and equipment to protect its territory, waters, people and interests, and we will not ask permission from anybody for this issue."

"Our defense capabilities, including the missile power, will be never subject to negotiations and discussion with any party," Major General Baqeri stressed.

He further urged the European parties to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal to honor their commitments and implement the financial mechanism they have promised to set up to ease trade with Iran under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He said the unveiling of a new underground missile facility of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) revealed the U.S. and Israeli espionage services' ignorance of Iran’s military capabilities, contrary to what they claim.

Major General Baqeri added that the important point about unveiling of the IRGC’s new underground missile plant was that the claims by "the rulers of the Zionist regime and some Americans and the espionage services of the world that they are informed about every development in Iran" and their boast that they know the location and number of the Iranian missiles are empty.

The top commander said the enemies' claims about having information about everything is "wrong", noting that they are unaware of the Iranian facilities "ten times" more than what was recently unveiled.

He said Iran has always helped the neighbors at their request in combating foreign invasion and terrorist threats, noting that Iran’s assistance to Iraq and Syria in terms of advisory help and cooperation helped them restore security.

"We will stay in their countries (Iraq and Syria) as long as they want, and will keep providing them with help, and will leave those countries whenever they do not want." Major General Baqeri added.
