Switzerland | American Activist: Saudi Coalition Starves Yemenis as Method of Warfare

US human rights activist Randi Nord said the Saudi coalition uses starvation as a weapon of warfare, noting that "water and food resources are being targeted to starve and spread diseases such as cholera."

In a speech during a seminar on human rights in the Gulf at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Nord said that Yemen is now importing 80% of its humanitarian needs.

She added that the UN report demands lifting the siege and releasing all prisoners of the two conflicting parties and calls on the coalition countries to respect international principles and laws.

"There is a targeting of water and food resources to starve and spread diseases, such as cholera, there is also targeting of schools and living sectors." Nord said.
