Sri Lanka | Lavrov: Extremists moving from Syria to Libya

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Tuesday that extremists are losing their positions in Syrian Idlib as they move to Libya.

Lavrov made his remarks at a press conference with his Sri Lankan counterpart Dinesh Gunawardena in the Sri Lankan capital, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.

Lavrov added "after a day of Moscow’s indirect talks between the Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter, and the Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez al-Sarraj, that no final results had been reached for the Libyan settlement during the talks in Moscow, stressing that Russia and Turkey will continue their efforts."

He further stressed that NATO has destroyed the Libyan state and there is no state in Libya at the present time.
