Iran | Health Ministry: 2,598 new coronavirus cases, total 312,035


The spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari, announced 2,598 new coronavirus cases in the country, bringing the total to 312,035.

In a press briefing on Monday, Lari said that fortunately, 270,228 patients have recovered and discharged so far.

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health, said "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to August 3nd in the country, 2,598 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed. Also, the number of patients with this disease reached 312,035.

She noted that 1,304 of the new patients were hospitalized, adding "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 215 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and 17,405 people have lost their lives in the country to date."The official stated, "4104 patients are in intensive care units."

Around 2,534,658 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, Tehran, Mazandaran, Golestan, Fars, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Semnan, Lorestan, and Hormozgan provinces are in the Red zone.

The health official further noted that West Azerbaijan, Khuzestan, Bushehr, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Zanjan, Hamedan, Kohgiluyeh, and Boyer Ahmad, Markazi, Yazd, Gilan and Qom provinces are on alert.
